laugh

I just love to laugh and almost worship the person who can make me laugh till I cry. Some people have it in them. Very simple joke they crack in a way that it works. I had the opportunity to attend two Hasya Kavi sammelens and I laughed till my ribs ached. (Ashok Chakradhar and many real good kavi out there)
In college there used to be latest jokes, situations, to do the needful .Now I depend on TV. Shekhar Suman, Johny lever (his stage shows) and Saajid Khan are the few I enjoy. The way Shekhar mimics Atal Bihaari Bajpai, Amitabh, Dharmendra, Sonia Gandhi , Mithun and many more, is really very funny. Here are few jokes told by him in his programme. In written form it doesn’t sound that funny. it's difficult to recollect but I’ll try.
News item: Doctors remover 7 kg of stone from a man’s stomach. The man says that he would use it (the stone) to make his driveway, and after the operation his wife met him and called him “Pathaar ke Sanam”!
He connects Looong pause of Atal ji to the menopause of other political parties !
A colleague/friend of my brother asked him to write an application ( to be sent to the MD) Said ‘Yaar teri English Theek thaak hai “ Brother typed one and gave him the print out. After going through it, with mock seriousness on his face told Yaar isme ‘has been’ to aaya hi nahi. Other’s may not found it funny but I had a good laugh.

Even I am big fan of Shekhar Suman. His comic timing is perfect. Remember Dekh Bhai Dekh ? They are still showing it on Sony at 6.30 PM daily.

Once he was mimicking Laloo and Rabri on 'Simply Shekhar'. It was during EURO 2004. Rabri wanted to see a Football match when Laloo asked her what is a 'Goal'. Then Rabri starts making some rectangular shapes with her hands, to answer what was 'Gol'.

All this was mimicked by Shekhar Suman and I laughed my guts out on that. It was a nice post. I could remember that menoupause joke

yeah...me too likes shekhar suman a lot...tho not sajid khan, coz i find him quite obnoxious...perhaps its the way helooks which adds up to the whole thing...anyways, for me in movies i think i can forever laugh with Golmal, Chupke Chupke, Khubsurat ...i must hv seen them hundreds of times, and know the gags by heart, but dunno why, always end up laughing again...

Hi Deepak

Vandy...i am impressed and overwhelmed that my review of Veer Zaara prompted you to buy the cassette. Hope you really like it, coz its become a 'daily-early-mornnig- listen' for me now...Anyways, I am also replying to your comment left on Manish's blog. Yes, I am originally from Delhi, but now in Kathmandu for the past one month on a job assignment. I used to read Jug Suraiya regularly when i was there, but do not recall the particular article you mentioned; perhaps its recently published, or during the three-week boycott that I gave him coz he made a very derogatory remark on Lata in the same column. I wanted to banish him longer, but his writings are so good that I could not resist myself.

And as regards my blog, pls do leave comments, coz i think you yourself have already written very 'achcha sa' for some time now. Also, I have you linked,so will keep coming back. As far as my writing goes, well, at one point of time in history, I did want to be a journalist...so some vent up frustration finds an outlet on the blogs...

So, when' s the new post coming up?

Cheers!
Deepak Jeswal

Hi Vandy...Deepak here again...thanks for the link...i hate to admit this, but i think he has given a fairly accurate picture of Delhi. It is indeed a loud, mannerless, uncouth, bulging, bursting, dry, polluted city! yet, i love it for the open spaces, the wide roads ( which still get jammed by sticky traffic every evening), the plumpy roundness, the eagerness to succeed, and its ability to absorb!

I too love people who laugh easily. Sub TV shows Ashok Chakradhar on regular basis, conducting some Hasya Kavi sammelens or rather Kavi sammelens. I try not to miss that.

Hi Alka.
Pleasure to see you here.
Last week I could watch only last 5 minutes of this programme.
Bashir Badr was the guest.
And Ashok C concluded the programme with Badr's this Sher:

Koi haath bhi na milayega jo galay miloge tapak se |
Ye naye mizaaj ka shahar hai jara faasle se mila karo.

Wow, kya baat hai. I have seen that programme. What irked me was Mr. Bashir's clothes. He could barely manage some presentable attire for the show. That almost brought tears to my eyes. It seems like the harbinger of the mental downfall of a society, when a post of his stature could barely manage to clothe himself. At least hats off to Sub TV, to keep the interest of a few alive.

Hi Alka
You noticed...yes its really sad.
One more thing I've heard abt him is

When he was studying at AMU his own
poetry(shayari) was prescribed in his syllabus.

one more from him you must hv heard it before.

Dushmani jamm ke karo per gunjaaish ye rahe
jab kabhi dost ho(on) to sharminda na ho(on).
