A digital dictionary

Before I finished reading Khushwant Singh’s autobiography, a friend gave me “My Days”. Now reading RK Narayan after KS seems as if I’m reading Ramayan ki chaupaian (Couplets from Ramayan)
I don’t know what would I do without my Oxford Advance Learner’s (Dictionary.)
I have to use it quite frequently when words like ‘milksop’ and ‘Basket Case’ appear while reading books and now Blogs. The thick dictionary I use consumes a lot of my quality time . For many years I’v been  dreaming of a device called ‘digital Dictionary’ small and handy like a calculator or a digital Diary.
I wonder if such a device exists.

Hello didi, finally my r exams over \:D/ yippee ...
Waise i read this loooong time back that u needed something like digital dictio, sorry didn't replied that time n forgot later.
Well hard to even think of this that u want something digital that isn't on a PC and as i assume - its got to have search capabilities, suggestions for spelling mistakes in searching also, then also having anagrams, antonyms n synonyms, list of rhyming words(u need that for writing poems sometimes!!), noun, verbal, adjectival and adverbal forms, etc etc ... the list is sooo long!!
well I am listing all this since I think I can help u out! But then i couldn't digest the fact that u want it NOT on a computer :-s Hard to say where else can u get a HANDY dictio, travelling with you. Might be u can put ur comp. on standby mode n check these meanings once in a while - say 5 times a day - u save power that way n dont need to run the comp all time :D [talking abt power since it eats a lot- esp the woofer n processor!]
Anyway intriguing to read that palmistry post :-? thinking about it- with ref. to my own life predicted at times :P Anyway have lovely days ahead. take care. How is ur IITian and kids :-/

tatax =;
anonymouslly yours

PS: in fact if u ever get something like this which is NOT on comp then pls pls lemme know[u can post abt its features here:D I read u regularly!]

Spam spam...:-)

"sorry DIDN'T REPLIED that time n forgot later."
Grammar!!

Why is it hard to think "something digital and not on PC' ??
Don't we have digital camera and watches?

The loooong list you are talking abt is already available on dictionary related sites and I think in WORD itself.( am I wrong?)

"check these meanings once in a while - say 5 times a day "

Then checking in the dictionary(Book) itself is a better option.

"woofer n processor"
Yunki ye kya hai?? :-)

Palmistry post...Intriguing indeed.

kids are busy....exams ahead.(half yearly)
IITian is doing fine too.

PS: I'd definetly tell you if I see something like this. You are an IITian... make something like this for your project and dedicate it to your this Sis ...
Bye
